Our Style Icons

Every girl has her own style icon, someone we look at in magazines or film and wish we had her wardrobe, her effortless sense of style or the collection of bags she has which are named after her.

We asked the fashion savvy girls at Benefit HQ who was their ultimate style icon, and here’s our top five.

Olivia Palermo – Though she’s a new kid on the Block, Olivia oozes effortless style from the top of her head to the tip of her toes and as Accessories Editor at Elle magazine, her bling is seriously enviable!

Alexa Chung – In the words of our office training guru, ‘She could put on a bin bag with one of her vintage belts and still look stunning!’. Plus we want her bag!

Carey Mulligan– Our current favourite English rose, Carey’s clothes are very lady-like and elegant, yet she makes her image look more modern by the accessories she finishes her looks with.

Rachel Bilson – The OC star is making a serious comeback in the fashion stakes lately, doing the rounds at all this seasons designer shows and reminding us all how much we’d missed her easy going Californian style.

Marylin Monroe – This 50’s icon’s style is still loved the world over following two fashion rules, keep it feminine and keep it simple. Plus nobody can pull off that dress the way she did….

Finally…  Elizabeth Taylor

We had to say something about the late great Liz – She really was a true style icon, the gal who showed us diamonds really were a girls best friend.
Plus she really knew how to rock a strong brow and her eyeliner flicks were to die for!
