Last weekend Benefit were lucky enough to be invited to be part of the legendary Hard Rock calling Festival in London’s Hyde Park!
Our Bene-babes spent the weekend beautfiying the VIP’s and celebs in the VIP areas backstage (Jameela Jamil tells us she LOOOOVES Boi-ing!) as part of Hard Rock’s Rock Spa, while we spent the weekend thinking of ways to become a VIP…
Why? Because Hard Rock offer what is our favourite festival VIP area ever! Not only were we able to have a Benefit make-upper, but we were also treated to a 21 day manicure by Gelish (check out our Benefit pink nails!), gorgeous Hard Rock Cafe food and cocktails, afternoon tea with Twinings on their very own London bus and exclusive acoustic sets from the festivals performers. And all this was contained within Hard Rock’s very own garden where we made the most of the weekend sunshine, hanging out in hammocks whilst we watched the very best of the festivals acts.
Headliners The Killers, made us forget Friday nights rain with a ‘killer’ show including lasers, flowers and fireworks and the very best of their hits from ‘Spaceman’ to dancefloor favourite ‘Mr Brightside’. Opening for the Killers was the Kaiser Chiefs – we predicted a riot and they really created one when they belted out their hit to the eager crowd. The sun came out on Saturday to welcome 80’s legends Bon Jovi, who broke the curfew (at a fan’s banners request!) and showed us how a rock show is really done with 65,000 people all singing ‘Livin on a Prayer’ in unison. Finishing off the weekend in true style, ladies man Rod Stewart played a mix of classics and some great covers including ‘This old heart of mine’ and ‘Rollin’ on a river’, and even invited his ‘old mucker’, Rolling Stones’ Ronnie Wood on stage to play guitar on Maggie May.
Hard Rock, we might have had to SKY Plus Beyonce at Glastonbury, but we had a ball! Now how to become a VIP…
1. Invent something very very clever.
2. Become a reality TV star.
3. Marry a rock star…. we like this one best. Now where did Brandon Flowers go….
