Bestival: Lisa Potter-Dixon reveals her 'glamping' diary!

We took a sneek peak into our very own Head Make-up & Trend Artist (& Brow Expert) Lisa Potter-Dixon’s Bestival diary!

So it’s been a summer of festivals for the Benefit glam squad! But with Love Box & Hyde park calling done, it was time for the big one, the one we’d all been waiting for… Bestival!

We arrived Thursday morning, checked into our Wendy houses, yep, you heard me, Wendy houses, like the type you had as a kid! Proper Benefit glamping! Tents are so last year! 😉 Next, I trained the team on the 3 looks I’d created for the awesome Wildlife theme that Bestival had come up with this year!

The looks were Beautiful butterfly, Perfect peacock, and the one that turned out to be most popular, luscious leopard! Then, with the sun shining, we were ready to go! The gates of Glamazonia opened to herds of zebras, tigers and zoo keepers! This is how our 4 days of fun continued, we beautified/animalfied hundreds of gals! We had an awesome photo booth that went down a treat! Our games garden was hugely popular! With giant Jenga, Kerplunk and Connect Four, how could it not be! And everyone that won a game won a prize!! Yay!!! The music was of course incredible! From Florence to Emelie, to Dj Yoda and Sister sledge! Everyone was amazing! The atmosphere was Phenomenal!

The craziest moment of the Festival occurred on the Saturday. Now if I said to you, guess the strangest thing that happened to us during Bestival, I’d bet you a tenner you wouldn’t guess! So to stop the suspense, I’ll tell you!!! Along with our promotions team, Kyra & Lisa.M, I was a bridesmaid!!!! Ha! Yep you heard me right! Check out the pics for proof! Basically, I was doing a lovely lady called Chrissy’s makeup, and she told me that she was getting married, in 40 minutes, in the inflatable church that Bestival puts on every year, and did I want to be a Bridesmaid?! Well after only being married for 3 weeks myself and therefore, still having the wedding buzz, I had to say yes!! So myself, Ky, Lis and Matt our rigger, trotted along to the inflatable church, dressed up in 80’s gear from the provided fancy dress box, and became bridesmaids to the lovely Chrissy & Tom!!! It was literally amazing! The couple have been together 10 years and wanted to save on the wedding to go travelling-so they got married in the inflatable church for £40!! Yay! Loved it!

I was backstage some of the time which was mega cool. I hung out in the Artist Love tent where the likes of Friendly fires, Roots Manuva and Bat for lashes were just chilling! Natasha from Bat for Lashes is a big Benefit fan so we gave her some goodies! I did the make up for the up & coming Gabrielle Aplin! She was so fab and loved her make up look! Her DJ was dressed as Ace Ventura which was way cool!!!

By Sunday, after 3 days of pampering and partying we were all pretty exhausted, but then we remembered that Sunday was the reason we were all there!! It was Stevie Wonder night!!! Woohoo!! We got a good spot near the main stage and danced to the legend that is Stevie for nearly 3 hours!!  Wow! What a man!  During his last song the Bestival fireworks began! What an amazing end to an amazing festival!

See you next year Bestival!

Big Benefit love!

Lisa xx
