Hey gals! Lisa and Lauren here with our first ever monthly make up adventure blog post! We’ll write a post at the beginning of every month so that you can see what we’ve been up to! First up, it’s Lisa….
Hey Benebabes, phew what a busy month May has been! So for the first 10 days I was lucky enough to be in the home of Benefit, San Francisco! Wow! What an amazing place!! So bright and colourful, I can see exactly why Jean and Jane decided to open the first Benefit store there all those years ago. I was lucky enough to see all the products that will be launching in the next next 2 years!! Eekkk there is soooo many exciting make up masterpieces! I literally can’ t wait until I can give you more info!! Watch this space!
So, you might have seen all the hype about they’re real! push-up liner-if you haven’t then where have you been?! Ha! This is such an exciting, innovative launch and it will solve the biggest beauty dilemma of all time, how to line your eyes! It’s out Nationwide on June 28th. To celebrate this exciting launch we teamed up with Elle magazine to be part of their #elleinsider concept. We sent out 750 unbranded they’re real! liners to the Elle insiders two months before launch and these lucky girls had the chance to try and guess who had created this amazing product. OMG, the response was incredible! I then hosted an event with Elle’s gorgeous Beauty Director, Sophie Beresiner, in the Elle beauty cupboard to reveal that it was indeed us guys at Benefit that were behind this incredible liner! This was soooo fun! Check out the #Elleinsider tweets and vlog posts to see the girls reviews.
I love working with Matthew Williamson and his team. I’ve headed up the make up team for his London Fashion week shows and for his campaigns for the last four seasons. This month I teamed up with him to do the make up for a fab event he was sponsoring in honour of the amazing charity, Shaare Zedek. I choose a dewy complexion, a golden smokey eye and a nude lip for this glamorous show. The event raised a huge amount of money for the charity! Yay!
Over to Lauren…. Sooo while Lisa was jet setting off to San Francisco, I was hanging around with tanned, topless hoola men at our Carnaby Boutique for The Grazia shopping event. It’s a tough life… I also did a make up demo to all the lovely ladies who were taking advantage of our 20% discount for the night. This ‘Now to Wow’ make up look used some of our iconic products, see the before and after pics below.
I also did a shoot for four of the UK’s top bloggers, Becca rose (BeccaRose) Hannah Vickers (Away with the fairies), Emma hill (EJ style) and Hayley Rubery (Frock me I’m famous) in association with John Lewis. It was great to meet the girls and hear about how they all got into beauty and fashion blogging. The shoot had an Hawaiian theme so I made sure I used our amazing bronzer, hoola, on all of the girls.
We’ll be back next month with stories of the ‘Gabbi’s Head’ (Our very own girls only World Cup Pub) and Luna cinema!
Have a great June!
Love Lisa and Lauren xx
