#awesomeaugust: Staying Social!

So as you all know, we have been celebrating #awesomeaugust this month with photos of things that are brightening our (somewhat rainy) days! We thought we’d ask our Director of First Impressions and Twitter extraordinaire Nina to tell us about hers!

Well hello there! I am Nina and I manage the  UK Twitter account for the best brand in the world…not a bad job hey! I have been with Benefit for almost 12 years now and I simply cannot imagine myself anywhere else. I started out as a receptionist but started to look after our Twitter account mainly because I can’t stop chatting…literally. Ask anyone in Benetowers and they’ll tell you I love three things…my family (including my extremely handsome dog Jerry Springer!), cheesy music and talking. I realised how important it was to use my talent for talk and keep in touch with all of our Benebabes out there, so recently I moved over to the Marketing Department to take charge of Twitter full-time and haven’t stopped since!

This month has been nothing but awesome! It started when I met Rylan to chat all things makeup (did you know he used to work for Benefit?!) and got to sit on the This Morning sofa whilst I waited for him…a dream come true! I also rather sadly had to say goodbye to the best pub in the world when the Gabbi’s Head closed for business, but it reminded me how much fun I’ve had over the summer months working there.

Next up, I spent a week in sunny Portugal with my family putting my feet up! I also got to take my gorgeous mum and daughter to work at one of the Luna screenings Benefit are supporting all summer…well, if you can call it work when playing hook-a-duck! They LOVED it and think I have the best job in the world. Just for the record…I do!

Every August, I am lucky enough to work at V Festival and look after some of the artists that perform. It’s fun but a lot of hard work and very tiring! This year I met this lovely bunch, some of which I didn’t even recognise! Just call me #discoqueen. However my absolute highlight was getting to dance on stage with the legend that is Nile Rogers…I was actually crying whilst dancing to the song “GOOD Times” due to being sooooo overwhelmed.

During all of this I have been working… I PROMISE! I try to entertain all you Benebabes as much as possible on Twitter. I think I was pretty successful when I brought back #JokeTuesday for one day only and it trended pretty much ALL day, so thanks to all those who got involved and made us all giggle at Benetowers.

So that’s me signing out gals. Have a lovely last weekend of #awesomeaugust, and don’t forget to tweet and say hey!

Love & lashes,

Nina xxx
