How to: Shoot the perfect #Benegram

We don’t  know if you have noticed, but we LOVE a good snap here at Benefit… and yes, we take a LOT of them! So we thought it was time to share the love and get you beauties involved!

Introducing you to our brand new weekly competition over on Instagram…#Benegram! This unique competition will enable you to get well and truly snap happy!

“How will it work?” we hear you ask! Well, every Friday we will post an image showing you what the theme of the weekend is over on the @Benefitcosmeticsuk Instagram page. We then would like you to get snap happy with the theme, taking as many photos as you like and upload the photos to your IG using #Benegram and tagging us in the photo. We will pick a winner every Monday, who will win our fave Benefit product of the week!

So, you may be wondering what we are looking for! Well, with these simple tips, you can supercharge your content to be in with a chance of winning!

Tip 1: Make sure your image is clean and crisp (clean your camera lens first!)

Tip 2: Keep your image bright! The best images are taken in natural daylight!

Tip 2: Make sure the whites of your image are actually white… we are not really a fan of yellow tones!

Tip 3: Keep your image interesting with cute props  (we will choose themes that aren’t always about beauty!)!

Tip 4: Try out different angles! We love a variety!

Tip 5: Make sure we can relate! We’ve all had those moments when we’ve woken up and needed #allthecoffee, or wished we could buy #allthemakeup! Keep your eye out for great pictures all the time, as you never know, your snap may match the next theme!

And by the way Benebabes, you don’t need to have a fancy camera to acheive a great pic! Follow these simple iPhone photography tips to ensure you get the best pic possible…

1. Adjust exposure by pressing down on the screen until “sun” appears then scroll up and down to adjust

 2. Tap on darker areas to auto adjust to high exposure
3. Tap on main item to focus
4. Hold down instead of tapping to take picture for
continuous shooting
5. Avoid using zoom
6.Use apps like Snapseed to edit image brightness, colour and balance sharpness
7.Shoot the same thing a few times (and from different angles)
8. Clean the camera lens before every shoot
9. Avoid using the front facing camera – it has a lower resolution
10. MOST IMPORTANTLY – do your best to shoot only in natural light
Finally… remember… our favourite colour is PINK! So that will always go down well!
Good luck!
